Opposition to N17 80 Willow Road Project at Sunset Magazine Site

Dear Menlo Park City Council,

As a longtime homeowner in The  Willows neighborhood of Menlo Park, I strongly oppose the massive N17 project.
It will have a profoundly injurious effect on The Willows and on the neighboring Linfield Oaks  and Palo Alto neighborhoods;
on the rest of the City through massive traffic flow increases; likely adverse effect on San Francisquito Creek wetlands,
emergency- and fire-services  access, and on nearby home values.

Primary advocates for N17 are outside developer interests and YIMBY groups, motivated not by the good of Menlo Park
and its residents, but by raw profit and  unflinching idealogy.

Please continue opposition to N17 on all fronts.

An even more expansive strategy would be to mount, in concert with other cities facing out-of-scale projects imposed by
the Builders’ Remedy law, an attack in the courts on the legality of the law itself.
I note that Sen. Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park) has attempted unsuccessfully to curb Builders’ Remedy excesses through the
legislative process; a judicial approach might be more successful.

Sincerely

Ross Wilson
