Dear Menlo Park City Councilmembers,
Im Andie Reed and I live in Palo Alto, although I walk over the creek and
into this neighborhood often.
Please push back against the 80 Willow Rd developers threatened lawsuit
and dont let the letter from the state Attorney Generals office influence
you to buckle under regarding the most ridiculous project ever proposed for
this lovely historic site on a creek!
Even if changing the rationale for finding the project ineligible is
problematic, as the AG asserts, that does not therefore make the project
eligible by default! Anybody can sue anybody for any reason, please dont
be bullied!
This degradation of our community is bigger than dueling attorneys and
playing chicken.
Did Bontas office even look at the project or visit the site? This
proposal, from a Russian oligarch with a bottomless pit of money, is
reliant on the "builders remedy" and any other loophole his money can buy
in order to blaspheme this sacred site and abuse the norms.
Who has the final say whether *absolutely ANY project MUST be built* just
because the City didnt dot is or cross ts? If this is shoved down our
throats, the punishment painfully outweighs the misstep.
Please support the people who live here.
