Esteemed City Council,
Im a San Francisco native and have lived in Menlo Park for over 16 years,
where my wife and I have raised our three boys. Ive volunteered with
several local organizations, including 11 years with Menlo Atherton Little
League as a coach and board member, the last two as President. I speak from
a direct connection to this community and to the impact this project would
have on it.
I oppose N17s proposal for a multi-tower mini-city at 80 Willow Road.
At minimum, the City must require a comprehensive Environmental Impact
Report conducted by independent technical experts. It should thoroughly
evaluate the risks to public health and safety, to San Francisquito Creek,
and to the surrounding neighborhoods. That report would give the City a
defensible, documented record of what this project would really cost our
community.
I urge the Council to hold firm with the developer, with regulators, and
through any legal challenges. This project would be an albatross on the
Peninsula and would put Menlo Parks future at risk.
