Dear Councilmembers,
Im writing as a Menlo Park resident who lives close to the 80 Willow Rd site to encourage you to continue to fight against this project as currently conceived. I strongly endorse the points that Menlo Forward has no doubt conveyed to you. The precedent it would set to capitulate to this builder and the state would open Menlo Park up to a lot of other predatory development projects. I also strongly support determining what we can do to prevent other developers from being able to avail themselves of the builders remedy in the first place.
This development is, for lack of a better word, gross. I want more housing, and more affordable housing -- Im supportive of the SRI development and the plan for downtown Menlo Park -- but this one will wreak absolute chaos for those of us who depend on the Middlefield and Willow Rd arteries (in addition to being an aesthetic nightmare). We have to fight.
