--- Dear District 4 neighbors,
As many of you know, Ive co-authored Menlo Future with Lee Duboc, and Im pleased to announce my endorsement of Peter Ohtaki for Menlo Park City Council, District 4 in next weeks election.
This race is important for all Menlo Park residents. The Council Majoritys lack of leadership has led to dramatic turnover of the citys staff.
The Assistant City Manager resigned in 2021 as did the Finance Manager, the Chief Administrative Officer, the Deputy Public Works Director, and the Assistant Community Service Director. In 2020 the
Police Chief quit. And in 2022 the City Manager, herself resigned abruptly, before her scheduled retirement after Nash, Wolosin, and Taylor called a closed door session to evaluate her performance. That closed session was called surreptitiously�without the
knowledge of the Mayor!
In contrast, Peter Ohtaki is a consensus builder. He served on the City Council from 2010 to 2018, and as Mayor twice. City staff appreciated his financial expertise and ability to build consensus-based
solutions to our local issues.
If you live in District 4, please vote for Peter Ohtaki to replace one of the Council Majority members. If you live in another district, please tell your friends in District 4 to vote for Peter. This
is the only contested race for City Council, and the stability of the City is at stake.
While Im at, please vote Ray Mueller for Supervisor. Ray would be the first Menlo Park City Councilmember ever elected to the Board of Supervisors, which would be huge for Menlo Park.
