Thank you for your call this morning following my outreach to chief Norris asking that Menlo Park police vigorously follow-up on reports of speeding vehicles.
I‘m attaching a screenshot of the incident as reported on Nextstore this past Saturday. The reported license plate was apparently missing a digit. The witness to the event called the police, but was told that the police could not take action since there was only one witness. This is unacceptable and inexcusable.
I ask the Menlo Park police department to pursue reports of speeders no matter how many witnesses. By putting violators on notice that driving at dangerous speeds is not acceptable in our community, we may reduce this plague and save lives.
Thank you for your attention to this very important and dangerous issue that we deal with every day in our town.
