To Menlo Park City Council,
I want to thank you for taking the right stance with your September 29
decision. I know that the fight is not over, but I am grateful for the
position that you have taken and want to express my deep appreciation.
I have not written to you previously as I am not one of your constituents.
I actually live in the Lindenwood neighborhood of Atherton. You may not
really care about the opinions of non-Menlo Park residents; however, I am
immensely grateful nonetheless. As a resident who would be directly
impacted by the building of skyscrapers on Willow Road (along
with residents in neighboring Downtown Palo Alto), I am terrified to think
that the building of skyscrapers could become a reality. This would forever
scar Menlo Park and create irreversible damage. Any quaintness to the area
would be wiped away by preposterous construction that should never be
allowed at 80 Willow Road. I can only imagine the high-fiving that the
owner of 80 Willow is doing with his cronies in Russia and mocking how much
power they have over the Town of Menlo Park. This is insanity.
