My name is Marianne Brems. I am a resident of Menlo Park and have been swimming at Burgess Pool under the management of Tim Sheeper since the pool opened in 2006. For the past seventeen years I have observed first hand the quality and diversity of programs offered by Menlo Swim & Sport. A wide variety of adult aquatic programs for all levels of interest and ability include lap swimming, adult wellness, swim lessons, water exercise, water polo, masters swimming, and triathlon. In addition programs for kids include swim lessons, youth camps, competitive swimming, and open swim. For seventeen years Tim Sheeper has provided an invaluable service to the community through aquatics as well as an annual senior food donation event and other community service activities.
Every time I come to the pool, the staff greet me and answer in a friendly and professional manner any questions I have. They are there with enthusiasm in all kinds of weather without fail. I am a Masters swimmer who used to compete but now my interest is to swim for fitness. The workouts are well-planned, designed to accommodate all ages, and are interesting enough to keep me motivated to come back day after day, year after year. I appreciate that each one is challenging in a different way with lifelong fitness in mind. Who could ask for more?
