Dear City Council,
Unfortunately, I cannot attend tomorrows council meeting. Please know that I fully support removing parking and adding bike lanes (including the buffer space with I think is so important).
My oldest attended Oak Knoll & Hillview and my youngest is still at Oak Knoll. The amount of traffic on our streets (including massive construction vehicles) makes the need for safer routes for kids to get to school a necessity. Middle Ave from El Camino to about Windsor is extremely dangerous for bike riders; due to parked cars, bike riders get pushed into traffic lanes and then cars cross the double yellow line into on coming traffic to get around the bike rides...ugh!. The intersection at Middle and Olive is dangerous for bikers and pedestrians (I live near by this intersection; so many close calls everyday).
Again, please eliminate the parking, create some safe space for kids to get to school and make the streets safer for all bike riders and pedestrians in general.
