Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I am writing to express my happiness and immense satisfaction with the current Burgess Pool programming and my support for Team Sheeper’s RFP response.
My four children grew up swimming at Burgess. They also swam at Menlo Atherton high school (Tom from Solo coached one our daughters at MA and we are no strangers to the Solo swim team - I still believe Tim Sheeper and his organization are the best choice). I took up women’s masters water polo in my late 40s and play with the Mavens (I am now 63). I has never played a team sport when I was young, and only took up masters swimming after my 4th child was born. I swim on the Menlo Masters swim team. (I have been a lap swimmer too.) I support Beyond Barriers. I love seeing all the kids having swim lessons, the aqua-fit classes, and the lap swimmers. It is a magical community Tim and his organization have created at the pool. I truly believe no one can do as good a job as Tim and his organization.
We live in Ladera, and Menlo Park is our home and city. We shop in Menlo Park. We go out to dinner there. We participate in the street fairs, library events, etc. Our kids played basketball and did gymnastics at Burgess and played AYSO soccer all around the town. We are committed to a successful and positive community in Menlo Park.
Thus I write to encourage you to continue to have Tim Sheeper and his organization run the pool facilities.
