This message is regarding:
I1. Provide direction on the preferred bikeway design for Middle Avenue and adopt a resolution to install no parking zones on Middle Avenue; determine this action is statutorily exempt as defined by Public Resource Code Section 21080.25 (Staff Report #23-032-CC)
We are residents on Arbor Rd and will be impacted by the removal of parking on Middle, but in full support of the bike lanes on Middle.
- Bike lanes will make the road width narrower, slowing cars down, making the crossings on Middle safer. We frequent Jack Lyle park and often cars don’t stop at the crossing or move past us at uncomfortable speeds.
- Bike lanes will make the journey to school safer. We have a 3 month old son that will make the journey in the near future.
- Bike lanes will encourage more bike riders, improving climate outlook
