Hi City of Menlo Park, I am writing to show my support for Tim Sheeper for renewal of the pool management contract.
I first joined Menlo Masters with Tim when I moved to Menlo Park in 1995. Despite moving around a bit (on the peninsula and up to SF) since 1995, and now living in Portola Valley, there is a reason I always came to Menlo Park to be a part of Tim’s programs. Tim creates community.
All of his efforts, from coaching Menlo Masters, managing the pool, Team Sheeper, swim lessons, camps, and other programs have always been around building a safe, fun, encouraging and inclusive environment. Everyone is made to feel welcome. In the nearly 30 years since I arrived in CA these programs have been an important part of my life and family.
The pool facility has run without a glitch through the years, including through the construction, the “dome years,” the pandemic, and I have faith that it will continue to run smoothly under his leadership. Staff has always been super friendly, facilities well maintained and cared for, and programming meets the needs of this diverse community. Further, I value all the communication that comes from management and staff about upcoming changes, new programs, or just exciting community news and celebrations.
As a “life-time” customer/participant I can’t think of anyone more capable to lead these programs in the future and who can build and cherish this community the way that Tim does.
