Dear Mayor Wolosin, City Council Members, and Staff,
Thank you for all of your work on this project. Im in full support of safer bikeways that promote good health, better air quality, and a greater sense of community. While I understand that this will impact residents in a variety of ways, I believe the overall goal of this project is well-intentioned. I have read comments from others that have presented good ideas to address some of the concerns of renters and other residents and I would encourage the City to explore these in making a final and timely determination, such that the project provides the greatest community benefit and minimizes inconveniences to those directly impacted.
This project connects to the Citys goals outlined in the Climate Action Plan. Specifically, it will reduce vehicle miles traveled (VMT) as needed for Goal #4 and will also support Goal #2 by reducing gasoline sales.
I support Option One as I feel this is what is best for the community and will ultimately help the City achieve its climate goals, which are of the utmost importance to me.
Again, thank you for all your work on this project and all that you do to thoughtfully improve our city and the lives of its residents.
