Dear Council -
Hope all is well. Just wanted to give you all a quick update on where the district is with the lease of the former Flood School Site.
Last night I presented the proposed option and ground lease of the former Flood School Site with Alliant Strategic Development to the Ravenswood board. This agreement enables the creation of fewer than 90 units of 100% affordable housing with a preference for teachers and staff - exactly the same project as described approximately a year ago.
The next step will be a board vote, likely on the March 9th meeting public board meeting. Should the board approve the agreement, it would begin a 39 month option window during which Alliant is expected to complete various pre-construction activities including necessary project approvals and permits from the City of Menlo Park.
There has been, and will continue to be, significant engagement around this project. We are excited to continue to work with the broader Menlo Park community to develop this space, work that will likely happen with greater earnestness once we have a preliminary design to discuss.
