As a 35+ year resident of Menlo Park, and a user of the Burgess Pool and Menlo Masters member for almost as long, I write in support of retaining the current operator. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And it is far from broke - in fact, the current operator has done an amazing and consistently effective job in maintaining the diverse aquatic programs for many years. I know that Tim Sheeper’s heart is in supporting the community and, in particular, meeting the needs of the extremely broad, complex, and multi-faceted local swim community, and this has been unwavering despite enormous challenges, both external (e.g., the pandemic) and internal (e.g., the aging facilities).
