I will add my voice to that of almost all frequent users of the Burgess pools to ask that we continue Sheepers operation of the pools. Im mostly a lap swimmer, formerly a masters swimmer. Based on my experience at many other pools, Sheeper does a really good job nurturing swim programs of all kinds and balancing the needs of all swim pool users. I have read social medium type criticisms that the swim programs use too much pool time at the expense of family/lap swim. This criticism is not right. The swim programs are youth and masters swim teams, lessons, aquafit, womens water polo, team-in-training and summer camp. These are the things that the most frequent users of the pool want. In any case, there are more available hours of lap/family swim at Burgess than any other public or academic pool in the area. We have a highly regarded pool operation now. There would need to be a really good explanation to pool users from the Council to change to another pool operator.
