To Whom It May Concern,
As a longtime Menlo Park resident and frequent swimmer at Burgess, I write in support of Team Sheepers selection as the aquatics operator at Burgess and the Menlo Park Community Campus aquatics center.
Ive been a Masters swimmer for over thirty years, and most of that time has been with Team Sheeper. I also knew Tim when he was an age group swim coach very early in his career. Even then, he stood out as someone who cared deeply about sharing his passion for swimming and creating a sense of community through the sport. Whether he is teaching a child to be pool safe; developing a young swimmers confidence and sportsmanship through swim sports; or helping an adult improve his stroke or even muster up the courage to try competitive swimming, his gentle, encouraging and always cheerful demeanor make us all believe in ourselves.
Tim also does a terrific job managing his staff and hiring quality individuals, many of who have been with him for decades. Together, they do an excellent job maintaining the pools, keeping them clean, safe and at appropriate temperatures. In the few instances when, due to a storm or a broken heater, the pools have temporarily been inaccessible, they have addressed the issues immediately and have been expedient in communicating with the swimmers.
Team Sheeper has created a welcoming community at Burgess, where at just about any time of day on any day of the week at any time of year in any kind of weather I see residents of all ages and swim abilities enjoying this precious resource the City of Menlo Park offers. We are all lucky to have had them all these years, and I wholeheartedly endorse Team Sheeper in continuing to manage the pools at Burgess and the new MPCC aquatic center.
Sincerely,
N. Miki Armstrong
