Good afternoon Council members,
I would like to submit these additional items to the existing City Council Priorities list. I believe these items should be addressed ASAP. Many of these concerns and requests have been repeatedly requested for the last 5-10 years. We are concerned now more than ever over the LACK of addressing these items for the last 10 years. These requests and concerns are from many residents in Menlo Park, specifically Belle Haven who experiences that greatest impact. When do we see these items actually addressed and put into action with a timeline ?
1. Strategic plans that addresses concerns with timeline
2. Continuous removal of Heritage and native trees and plants
3. Solutions to the congestion of traffic within our community - Remedies to poor air quality and safety.
4. Reduction of new construction housing projects that contribute to poor air quality, safety issues- Continuous new construction approved in BH
5. Moratorium on new construction projects
6. Stop removal of Belle Haven neighborhood’s history and culture.. (Onetta Harris)
7. Need more opportunities to understand policies or issues that affect the neighborhood.
8. Rezoning that creates loopholes in construction development that devalues Belle Haven
9. Addressing the lack of outreach and or hiring Outreach workers
10. Disaster Preparedness emergency supplies/education /relief , Clear communications during disasters
11. Strategic plans that addresses concerns with timeline
