Dear Council Members
I am the owner and occupant of the home at 444 University Drive immediately adjacent to the 440 University Drive property where a new home design and build has been proposed.
I want to formally state that I am IN FAVOR of the proposed design/build.
As I understand the design meets all Menlo Park and CA state building codes and requirements, requests no variances and is a pleasing visual design.
My main concern is that I would like to see more sidewalks on main streets in Menlo Park like University, Middle, Santa Cruz, Olive, etc. so that elderly people and those pushing baby carriages do not have to walk on the street side of parked cars. As such I would like to ensure that a concrete sidewalk is included in the plans, as I believe that have been by both the Planning Commission and Thomas James Homes - hopefully I am correct on this point.
I do plan to attend the meeting via Zoom and would be happy to address any questions by the Council.
