BEDWELL BAYFRONT PARK (BBP) - GREAT SPIRIT PATH (GSP)

Honorable Mayor Wolosin and Council Members,

Menlo Park is indeed fortunate to have one of the worlds largest outdoor stone sculptures. Located in Menlo Parks largest city park, with nearly 160 acres, is a piece of PUBLIC ART created many years ago. It is fondly known as the GREAT SPIRIT PATH, which you may wish to take time one day to see upclose and personal in the BEDWELL-BAYFRONT PARK, located at the end of Marsh Road, near the Bayfront Expressway. Entry is free and there is plenty of free parking.

Created in the 1980s by famed artist, SUSAN DUNLAP, a resident of Menlo Park, the stone sculpture extends nearly three quarters (3/4) of a mile. It consists of 53 separate but unified stone sculptures. Its quite unique. Some compare it to the famed English stone sculpture known as STONEHENGE, coining our local piece as the STONEHENGE OF MENLO PARK.

Menlo Park offers many unique and outstanding places to view and visit. The GREAT SPIRIT PATH can certainly be considered one of them. Attached for more information about this unique item is an eight page brochure.
