Dear Menlo Park Councilmembers,
My 5th grade Laurel Student and my MA student both use Coleman. They use it to get to and from school, to visit friends, and to go to the park.
Our family really appreciates the new stop sign and bike lane on Coleman. It has made me and my husband feel better about our kids safety.
But we are still worried. The paint on the ground does not protect them from drivers in the bike lane. It happens a lot that cars pull into the bike lane or park in the bike lane. The painted line doesnt stop them. I dont feel that my kids will be truly safe until there is a physical barrier between them and fast moving vehicles.
