I am a resident of Menlo Park, and I am writing to express my strong opposition to any current or proposed planning that involves the killing of ground squirrels in our community.
This lethal approach must stop immediately. As a community that prides itself on sustainability and environmental responsibility, we should not resort to eradication methods that are cruel and disrupt our local ecosystem. Ground squirrels are a native species that provide food for local birds of prey and help aerate the soil.
