All,
While I was aware of the trains before purchasing my home in Menlo Park, the horn noise has worsened over time making it more and more difficult to sleep and maintain a great quality of life. Thus, I am clearly in support of creating quiet zones throughout Menlo Park-not just at two intersections but at ALL of them given their close proximity.
Not knowing what other conflicting funding plans exist, I feel that this should be the number one priority and is just as important as police and fire protection/safety for our municipality. Like Atherton, resident quality of life should be the highest priority of our city council. Caltrain horns are not just audible for those of us who live adjacent to the tracks but also throughout town-especially at night and in the very early morning.
I will try to attend tonights meeting, remotely, but wanted my thoughts to be considered as its my number one "quality of life" concern for living in Menlo Park.
