Dear City Council,
In this morning’s Daily Post, I read in reference to the Clock Works restaurant article, an assertion there is no establishment in Menlo Park with a patio, that serves alcohol until 2am.
While somewhat selectively argumentative in its exclusion of the Dutch Goose, the assertion also overlooks that in the history of Menlo Park there was one much beloved establishment located down the street from the Clockworks proposed location on El Camino Real, that served alcohol, had a patio, and stayed open past 1:00am: the Oasis.
The Oasis’s closure was met with great sadness in our community. Upon its closing, I did not get one email from a residential neighbor nearby celebrating the decrease the noise. Quite the opposite. I received many communications lamenting it’s loss and celebrating the lasting memories created there.
Please don’t kill this project.
