The proposed restaurant with a bar open until 2 a.m. is a very bad idea which I hope the City will not permit. Outdoor seating, live music and alcohol served until 2 a.m. is going to generate late night noise and excess traffic that will adversely impact all who live nearby. Since sound travels at night, the noise would most likely be heard far beyond the immediate neighborhoods. Do we need people who’ve been drinking until 2 in the morning to then be out driving on our streets in the middle of the night? People who are both tired and buzzed aren’t known to have the best judgement.

Who is this bar really serving? Why do we need this? Is this in any way fair to the residents who live nearby? Have all those residents been notified of this proposal and been given ample opportunity to give their input?

I am strongly opposed to any bars, restaurants or music venues being open until 2 in the morning in our quiet, residential town. I know many families who have moved to Menlo Park for its quiet, friendly neighborhoods. Nobody moves here expecting late night bars.
