Please 🙏 preserve the name Onetta Harris Center for the newly constructed building. The name is a beacon of a light house guiding community members to a shore, legacy of hope and history. Mrs Harris touched and guided her community to the land of salvation and respite from struggling with health issues, economic crisis and substance addiction.Generations were saved by her parenting,mentoring and teaching. Their children passing on the oral and visual education to their children they were gifted by Onetta Harris. She was a great woman who gave her heart and soul to foster hope and recovery in Menlo Park and surrounding cities. The name Onetta Harris Center is a cheer,prayer and proclamation of that historic time in our lives is still being honored, fostered and preserved for the future generations. Who will come through those doors days and years to come. Continuing to save others as Onetta Harris saved their parents and great grandparents. Families grew from the soil of activities and environment that Onetta Harris provided from programs such as Midnight Basketball to weddings and baby showers. Older members tell their children that is where I met your mother or father. Its not a buildings name Onetta Harris Center but chapters of family and community history.
