Dear city council board members,
I understand that tonight is a meeting where the budget for the forthcoming year will be presented. I also understand that the proposal includes funds for license plate readers and gunshot detection devices.
Since moving to Menlo Park 13 years ago, the house two doors down from us was robbed at 8:00 pm at night while I walked out to get the mail, multiple bikes have been stolen from our neighbors driveway and other criminal activity has been noted around Menlo Park. I believe that the types of tools mentioned above can and will discourage criminal activity and I urge you to approve a budget that will include these items.
