The staff report for the June 20, 2023 meeting lists several of my submitted comments with my affiliation listed as MPC Ready.
I object to this listing and I consider it misleading. I did not write on letterhead, use an organizational email, or state that I was speaking for MPC Ready. My February 26, 2023 memo referred to the beliefs of community-based organization in the context of public concerns expressed at a public meeting. We need to be able to work with a community-based group, and also express ourselves as individuals. Naturally, we will be informed by outside work.
Ms. Goodman is "affiliated" with the Sierra Club but her affiliation was not noted. Karen Williams may also be considered "affiliated" with the CRC-led CCCT Belle Haven group, but this is not noted.
I would like the affiliation removed. I think affiliations should only be listed when someone is clearly writing on behalf of an entire organization, or part of it.
