Honorable City Council members and staff,
Thank you for giving us an opportunity to let us speak and express our gratitude about the new community center. I love the remodel of the center and I like how there are new and interesting programs that I found very fascinating. I would like to discuss the new prices for the pool at the updated center and share that I am concerned the price is too high and not affordable for many families. I think that the price for the pool should continue to be the original prices as before. In the previous agreement attached below, for a day pass it cost $5 for a resident and $6 for non-residents, but now I see the new price is $9 for residents and $10 for non-resident. I think that’s not affordable and it is unfair for the people who are residents in the community. The cost of living here is already so high and we appreciate having an updated center, but it is not a true community center if it is not accessible city-wide, especially to the community it is located in. In my opinion I think the price should go back the way it was so it’s fair and accessible for the residents who have been living in the belle haven community prior to the renovation.
