To the City Council of Menlo Park,
I understand that you are discussing the downtown public plaza at 600 Santa Cruz Ave tonight. If I am understanding correctly, that is the area on Santa Cruz Ave. between Curtis St & Doyle St. My husband and I would like to see Option 1, the existing configuration with the closed vehicle lane, to continue. It is such a nice place for people to meet with friends, kids on bikes after school to meet with their friends, and extra space for the restaurant(s) to have outdoor tables and dining. We certainly dont find it an inconvenience to navigate our cars in that area. Plus, not having cars driving in both lanes in that area is much safer for pedestrians and people on bikes.
