2 reasons to Intervene

Council: MUST READ !
> 2 reasons to Intervene
>
> Two (2) Reasons why "Yes on P" is necessary:
> 1) This Menlo Park Council has admitted that not one of them has experience in real estate deals like this Downtown Parking lot plan.
> 2) This deal involves money and time that exceeds their limited authority.
>
> Specifically:
> 1) The councils lack of real estate experience mishandled two deals:
> a) The Meta Village housing plan,
> b) The 80 Willow Tower mess
> AND NOW:
> They are ignoring all the Red Flag warnings from their own feasibility report and multiple experts who are opposed to the downtown plan.
>
> 2) City councils have limited authority to commit city assets: The Downtown Parking lots plan: "$1/year for 55 years, to a PRIVATE Developer", EXCEEDS the authority in both money and time limitations.
>
> A three (3) person majority on the council should know that they have exceeded their authority when they have NO real estate experience AND their decisions involve "multi-generational life changes" and "multiple-millions of taxpayer dollars";
> Especially when the beneficiary of such decisions is a PRIVATE Developer!
>
> Usually we trust our elected council . . . BUT, not on this issue. !
>
> The Voters have a duty to INTERVENE when a Council is making a Costly, Reckless, Long-Term, Irreversible MISTAKE !
>
> YES on P is the voters saying "STOP" !
>
> Thinking ahead:
> What IF the "NO on P" wins?
>
> The 3 council members will proceed to GIFT our parking lots to the PRIVATE Developer, and Gift the Private Developer up to $45 million of our tax payer money. . . . (probably much more)
>
> Which will result in this:
>
> The Pending LAWSUIT by the store owners and residents, who oppose this "Development", will be Re-Instated, and a judge will "STOP" this council from making this: Costly, Reckless, Long-Term, Irreversible MISTAKE !
>
> Vote "Yes on P" to stop this "Train Wreck", caused by an unqualified city council that is exceeding their authority.
>
> Thank you for considering this analysis.
