Hi City Council Members,
I hope this email finds you all well. I have two questions that I'm hoping you can answer for me, or if not, point me in a direction where I might be able to find more information.
1) In the council meeting on Sept 15th, item E1 (Refocus City Council 2020-21 priorities and direct specific land use planning work) was - I think - tabled to be discussed at a later time. Has that been rescheduled yet? I was curious to hear the discussion at the time, so I'm curious if it has been put on an upcoming agenda.
2) Are there any current plans for the council to further discuss reallocating the Facebook funding for the CRT?
It's hard for me to remember exactly where the conversation about the CRT funding left off, since it was discussed in multiple different meetings. My general understanding (please feel free to correct me if I'm misunderstanding) of the situation is that:
* City council is free to reallocate those funds, so long as they are spent on community safety for the same area.
* If the funding is reallocated, the city would then have to step in to provide funding for the CRT.
With that in mind, I'd love for there to be more conversation about reallocating those funds - what that process would involve, how that funding could be spent differently, etc. If there are no concrete plans to further this discussion, I'd love to advocate for that to be done. I imagine it is difficult to schedule something like this, since it carries no specific deadline, while many of the projects that you work on have specific deadlines. And obviously your time is limited. But I do believe that this issue is time sensitive, and deserving of action.
