RE: PLEASE STOP the cutting of the REDWOOD TREES at 1000 El Camino Real

Hello Keri,

Thank you for your email. I am also copying Darshana and Wendy who wrote to the City Council yesterday regarding this matter.

The City offices are closed for the Holidays until January 2nd. As such, we are extending the appeal period until January 9th in
order to give people more time to understand the facts related to the proposed removals. Here is a link to a recent Planning
Commission staff report that provides more context.

Our staff would be happy to discuss this matter with you and others in the New Year.

Best regards,

Justin

Subject: PLEASE STOP the cutting of the REDWOOD TREES at 1000 El Camino Real

Hello, I understand that these 7 redwoods might be causing damage to the parking structure. I would like to find out if there is
another way of handling this rather than chopping down iconic 40 year old redwoods at the corner of El Camino Real and Ravenswood.
(Not to mention that they are part of the Ravenswood Triangle Redwood Grove, planted in 1979 and very much a part of our beautiful
landscape.)

Because the clock started on 12/13/18 and there are 15 days for appeal, does this mean after 12/28/18 they can come down? I don't
know if it's business days or calendar days, but either way, it's the holidays and there are bound to be LOTS of people who would
like to know and contribute to the discussion before it is too late.

At the very least, please put a HOLD on this decision/action until more people can weigh in, and an arborist or two can discuss,
as well as a structural engineer, etc.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART to find out what is going on, why, and by when!

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you, kjm
