Please add Coleman Avenue to Oct. 22 meeting agenda

Dear Menlo Park City Council,

I am a resident of the Menlo Oaks neighborhood in Menlo Park. I have lived in Menlo Oaks for 12 years on Arlington Way, a side street off of Coleman Avenue. All three of my children attend Laurel Elementary school. Currently Coleman Avenue is too unsafe for us to allow our third grader to bike to Laurels Upper Campus. However, we would love him to be able to bike to elementary school. We kindly ask you to put the Coleman Avenue one-way pilot on the October 22 meeting agenda. Specifically:

1) We support the County one-way measure as we feel this is the safest way to curb traffic and allow bikers and pedestrian access.
2) We support removing parking on one side of the city portion as that portion becomes very narrow with parked cars, cars driving and kids biking.
3) Install traffic calming measures including stop signs and speed tables.

Thank you for all you do for the benefit of our community!

Sincerely,
Suzanne and Adam Yonkers
