Hi, Menlo Park team.
Not sure who this should go to but riding your bike in Menlo Park is ridiculously unsafe. I am writing to ask for some enforcement
of the laws in my neighborhood. In particular, the construction project at University Ave (near Florence Lane) has pickup trucks
and cars parked in the bike lane nearly constantly. I have twice asked them to not block the bike lane and was told to get over it
and they are doing construction so they can park there. Is that true?
Also, Lyle Park is frequently sold to soccer teams and the parents/guardians/nannies park in the fire lane on Fremont St virtually
every afternoon and evening and also use it as a drop off lane. This makes it very dangerous and difficult for cyclists to
navigate as well as cars and pedestrians trying to navigate the crossing.
I'd love to hear what can be done. The traffic in our town is so congested that I'd love to see us make the town more bike
friendly.
