Esteemed Council:
First of all, thank you for your service to our Menlo Park community and your continued openness in gathering public insight and research on key projects. Along these lines I would like to formally request that a soccer field adequate for 11 X 11 play be included in the Parkline Project. Ideally this field would be turf, as grass fields prove difficult to maintain and play on during our rainy season. Both of my daughters started playing AYSO soccer at age 4 and evolved to/through club programs (Stanford Strikers) and one thing is obvious: Menlo Park lacks adequate fields both in terms of size and quality. This holds for games and the frequent practices we have throughout the week, thus forcing parents to be on the road to inconvenient locations.
