Hello City Council,
My name is Mark Kim and I run operations for the church in downtown Menlo Park. Im fairly new to my position, but it was concerning to me to hear about the upcoming vote to covert the public parking lots on Oak Grove. Please hear me in that I am all in favor of affordable housing, and in fact, our church has been working on ways that we could possibly help with this need in the future. My current concern is the speed at which this vote is happening and the lack of resources and notification about these changes. Has there been any research done in terms of what this development of affordable housing will do to the traffic in the area of the impact on downtown businesses? We want to be a church that is FOR Menlo Park, so more than opposition, I sincerely request the need to slow down and properly do studies and notify our community so that thoughtful and intentional moves can be made for the betterment of our community.
