Dear City Council members,
Weve written previously to express our strong support for the affordable housing proposed for the downtown parking lots. Wed like to reiterate our support for this project, especially in light of the concerns that have emerged from the community meeting with businesses last week.
We have high hopes that it is possible for this housing project to move forward in a way that respects the needs of downtown businesses—especially given the considerations given to public parking in the report. We also trust that the city will move forward openly and transparently for all stakeholders involved. (For those who have doubts, perhaps we might look to other cities, both in-state and out-of-state, that have been able to build successfully.)
Thank you for acting to build more affordable housing in Menlo Park. We respectfully urge you to continue to move forward with this project.
