Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I am a member of Gallery House at 826 Santa Cruz Ave.
We recently moved from California Avenue, Palo Alto due in large part, in my opinion, to the street closure which cut off a lot of our business.
Now, we have found a new home in Menlo Park and on November 9th we just celebrated our Grand Opening in this town.
As you can imagine, relocating was a lot of difficult work. We are trying to attract new clients in Menlo Park while keeping as many of our previous customers as possible.
But, now I hear that the city is planning to put up housing and take away parking lots. It is my personal feeling that again, a city is not thinking about what is good for their businesses—the very businesses that help Menlo Park to thrive. And, like California Avenue, one by one they will have to leave.
When I heard of this, the first thing I thought was that Gallery House will not be here for long before we will be forced, by circumstances not under our control, to move again.
Please reconsider!
