To the city Council: Regarding the Coleman and Ringwood Avenues Transportation Study final report and implementation of a one-way pilot on Coleman Avenue in San Mateo County.
My wife and I live on Gilbert Avenue, between Santa Margarita & Santa Monica Avenues. We use this route on many occasions. Driving, walking and bike riding.
We are concerned that blocking one direction of traffic on Coleman will create traffic problems to and from, and within, our neighborhood 24 hours a day, for the sake of bicycle traffic for a few hours in the morning and afternoon. Other times of the day are not as crowded with bikes and cars.
We are all in favor of safety for cyclists and pedestrians, but this seems like a poor, and awkward, solution. And possibly a waste of time and money in the long run.
Please consider alternate ideas. - David Lehmann 716 Gilbert Ave.
