Let me start by stating I completely support the municipal code that prohibits overnight parking from 2AM to 5AM (11.24.050). I

feeling waking up in the morning and finding an expensive ticket on your windshield. What are you to do when you have a single
drink and don't have a temporary pass but don't want a ticket. Drive into the driveway or risk the ticket? What if the car doesn't
start? There are a number of situations when this is an issue.
Some of these situations can be helped by allowing us to call the police station per the code:
A resident or visitor may be granted permission to park between the hours of two (2) a.m. and five (5) a.m. in any residential
zoning district in front of his/her own residence or the residence he/she is visiting by calling the police department by one (1)
a.m., on the night he/she wishes to park.

provide a way for to contact them to get a permit.
I propose two solutions:
1. Ask the police to provide a phone number to get temporary permits.
2. Have the police delete the license plate in the warning database every quarter. This would allow us to have one "forgetful"
every 3 months.
There are other reasons for modifying the permit code but I think these solutions would help.
