Dear City Council,
Please support the plan for building affordable housing downtown. It’s a win-win for our community because it will:
1) Bring affordable housing for our teachers, police officers, essential workers, and community members
2) Bring more much-needed foot traffic downtown
3) Preserve most of our downtown parking spots — 504 of 565 spots
4) Fulfill state requirements to help our community stay in control of what is built here
There is much incorrect information circulating about this proposal such as “parking lots are being turned into housing and we’ll lose all downtown parking spots.” This isn’t true. What is true is that this is a strong plan. Please support it.
