Dear City Council members,
Several Complete Streets commissioners (Betsy Nash, Jonathan Weiner, and I) spent a couple of hours today riding around Menlo Park
with Council Member Mueller. We showed him various challenges and opportunities in our bike/ped network, from Alameda de las
Pulgas to the Willows to Belle Haven and back.
We would like to extend this opportunity to each of you, ideally sometime within the next month or two, before the time to make
decisions about the Transportation Master Plan and associated bike/ped improvements. I think it really helps to see the network
from the seat of a bike, ideally before you have to review/vote on plans in 2-D from the dais.
We can customize a route for any one of you if there are particular areas you'd like to see. We'd also be happy to ride over to
Palo Alto/Stanford and show you some of the innovations that they have been piloting.
