Dear City Council,as you may be aware, Facebook's building 21 has been the source of a number of false nighttime alarms over the
last week. So far, it has happened three times this week, each time somewhere between 2 AM and 5:30 AM.
Facebook blames the alarms on an issue with water pressure drop in the building. This may very well be the case, but it does not
explain why the issue keeps happening again and again. We can certainly understand a one-time glitch, but to have it happen
repeatedly at such frequency is starting to show negligence.
Another question is whether the sound level is even appropriate for a residential neighborhood. Especially the voice instructions
are loud enough to wake up people that live blocks away. One would think that the instructions should mostly be heard by people
inside the building. Facebook should look into this as well.
There are rules and ordinances about acceptable noise levels at night and even about faulty alarm systems. Hopefully, the City
Council can help to make sure Facebook respects the applicable rules.
Thanks and best regards,
