Dear City Council members,
Weve been very excited to see the progress of the SRI Parkline Project these past few years, especially as more housing units have been added. With the developer agreement meetings coming up, wed like to ask that you consider including an additional sports field to the plan—specifically, a regulation 11v11, 360x225 recreational sports field, one that can be programmed by Parks and Recreation, and open to all recreational sports.
Our son recently started playing soccer with Stanford Strikers FC, and this past fall, weve seen how much use the various fields get in Menlo Park, as well as in Palo Alto. Adding an 11v11 field to the Parkline Project would alleviate the crowds at existing fields. It would also make youth sports more accessible to local families, greatly benefiting childrens mental and physical wellbeing.
As the meetings take place with Lane Partners, please strongly consider including an 11v11 sports field in the developer agreement for our community.
