Dear Members of the City Council,
I am a resident of Menlo Park, and I am strongly opposed to the plan to convert downtown parking lots into low income housing.
Convenient parking is critical to the success and vibrancy of any business. The loss of parking in the downtown corridor will devastate local merchants. As a resident, I can tell you I will frequent these stores and restaurants far less when the already scarce parking is further diminished. I believe this plan will turn our charming downtown into a ghost town which will adversely affect jobs, home values, and our sense of community.
I urge you not to pass this plan and to study other options.
