Honorable Council Members,Please, why are we even thinking to BORROW $30 million to sink into replacing a library which is just
fine to most of us?Why this recent urge to build GRAND in Menlo Park? Who’s monument is this? When spending the public money,
please ask, do we NEED it as much as it costs us?Residents have already responded to your suggestive poll by saying NO - even with
a huge gift - there are better and numerous places to spend our “share” of the 50 million money - if we had it.And just
by-the-way, we shouldn’t be lotting to commit up to 10% of the general fund to added debt even in hard times, let alone in boom
times. How is that fiscally prudent? We should be paying down debt, not ballooning it.Sorry to be blunt: You owe the city a better
explanation of what’s going on here.Respectfully,Henry Riggs
