Menlo Park Cit Council -
I've written a few notes leading up to this point in support of the New Guild, but I'll lob in one more as I unfortunately can't
join the meeting in person. The closer the idea comes to approval, the more I've realized just how sorely disappointed I'll be if
the New Guild doesn't come about. We need a community gathering space. We don't want to become Atherton where everyone lives
private lives behind gates. I love that every time I go to downtown Menlo Park to shop, or when I'm at one of the MP sporting
fields, or when I'm out for a walk, I run into someone I know. Menlo Park is the perfect combination of small town warmth with a
higher level of sophistication. The New Guild fits that perfectly. It will be available for our town gatherings while raising the
bar on cultural offerings offered locally. And boy will it add some fun!
Please continue the path to approval of their plans are revitalize that part of El Camino!
