Some quick thoughts for you on the Council meeting agenda items.
Guild Theater. Yes to the overall idea and yes to allowing alcohol. However, the developer can and should be asked to contribute
more to affordable housing. I don't know where $61K cam from - perhaps some formula - but that is far too low. About 10 times that
- $600K seems better to me as a starting point.
Library. Yes to Mr. Arrillaga's offer but No to the location. Stipulate that the money must go to the Belle Haven Library or
refuse the offer. Let's put that neighborhood first for once.
New Council Chambers. Not now. Not the right time and seems too self-serving. No clear case for why the existing chambers are
inadequate.
