City Council Members,
As a long time music fan of all genres I would love to see the Guild transformed into a music venue. I feel it would serve Menlo Park, Palo Alto and the surrounding communities as a beacon for music, culture and enrichment.
My husband and I attend many concerts in the Bay Area and beyond. We, like our friends and many others are finding the long drive, sometime to San Francisco’s more than 1 1/2 hours becoming untenable.
It would be a pleasure to go out on the weekend or even mid-week to attend a concert close to home. We would be able to frequent a local restaurant, catch a concert and still be home at a reasonable hour.
I think having a music venue at The Guild would distinguish Menlo Park as a leader in innovation. It would provide entertainment value, but more importantly promote youth music programs in the area. As a former primary school teacher and parent of a member of El Camino Youth Symphony I realize how important available practice and concert venues are. Please endorse this proposal.
